Google Maps has new navigation features that will make driving around the city a little easier. When Enhanced Navigation goes live in November, blue lines on Google Maps will visually indicate which lane you need to enter to take the next turn, and the map itself will include crosswalks, signs, etc. , lane restrictions may be displayed.

The feature is rolling out to 30 U.S. metros and will also appear on Android and iOS. The addition of other useful navigation features found in Maps, such as lane guidance and the ability to view routes in 3D, will hopefully make driving in unfamiliar areas a little less stressful.

Starting this week, Google Maps will also be rolling out an update to its “Destination Guide” feature that was unveiled in July. The app not only highlights destinations and building entrances, but also shows nearby parking, parking location reminders, and walking directions to the building’s main entrance. Google Maps is expanding its reporting system to include adverse weather conditions that can affect driving, such as poor visibility, fog, snow, unplowed roads, and flooding.
