Brighton LakeSuper Bowl LIX is now just a little more than a week away as Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in one of the biggest sporting events of the year. Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift is expected to be at New Orleans’ Superdome for the big game on Feb. 9 to support her man.
The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter was at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for last year’s Super Bowl, and she will now be looking to make it two years in a row.
Swift, however, has another major event coming up before Super Bowl LIX. Multiple outlets have confirmed that she will be attending the 67th Annual Grammy Awards at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
According to TMZ, Kelce will not be able to accompany Swift for the Grammys where she has been nominated for six awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her track “Fortnight” with Post Malone.
Per TMZ’s sources, Kelce has decided to “stick with his team … as it continues its preparations for its Super Bowl matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.”
Fans on social media were quick to react to the news, and they are saying the same thing about Kelce’s decision not to attend the Grammys.
“Well he’s prepping for the Super Bowl so…” a comment on Instagram read.
“Maybe cause he has the superbowl lmao,” said another.
“Bc he’s going to practice with his team for the superbowl. I’m sure Taylor understands and supports him ” wrote a user.
“Hmmmm something called the Super Bowl maybe ” reacted a fan.
“Yeah cause we got a something more important to attend and practice for the 3peat ” another said.
“He has a Super Bowl to win,” commented a user.
The fans are chastising Kelce for not joining Swift for the Grammys. After all, as the folks on social media pointed out, this is completely understandable considering how he has to be focused on the Super Bowl, where he is expected to play a key role for the Chiefs and their quest for an unprecedented three-peat.
