Toyota is rolling out its 2024 lineup, and now it’s the popular 4Runner SUV’s turn. This rugged midsize model will remain familiar for the upcoming model year, but Toyota saw fit to add a few updates, including two new colors and a number of standard features.
For 2024MY, the 4Runner is offered in SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, and TRD Pro trims. Regardless of what the buyer chooses, this vehicle is powered by his 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 horsepower (201 kW / 274 PS) and 278 pound-feet (377 Nm) of torque . This powertrain allows all trim levels to tow up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg).
The first new color added to the 2024 4Runner lineup is called Underground, and the second is exclusive to the TRD Pro trim and is called Terra. The earth-toned paint pairs well with the black TRD alloy Flowform wheels with Nitto Terra Grappler tires.

The TRD Pro is all-in off-road capable and features a Fox shock with a piggyback-style remote reservoir that maintains damping performance even on rough trails. It also has a 1/4-inch thick aluminum skid plate with red TRD lettering and a TRD roof rack.
Meanwhile, the TRD Off-Road trim can be equipped with Toyota’s optional Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System. This allows wheel movement at lower speeds for better off-road performance without compromising on-road ride quality.
Finally, the 4Runner TRD Sport rounds out the 2024 TRD lineup. While other models are designed for the trails, the TRD Sport is meant for the road. Toyota says the TRD Sport has improved handling on the road through the use of a cross-link relative absorber system suspension.
All 2024 models will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P, the automaker’s suite of driver-assistance technologies that includes pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, sway warning, automatic high beams, high-speed dynamic radar cruise and more.
Unfortunately, pricing and timing for the 2024 model lineup have not yet been revealed.
